BlankMediaGames...

What is there to say about it. More specifically, what is there POSITIVE to say about this company...
Where to even begin.

Who they are

BlankMediaGames is an "Indie" company who has never been consistent with who/what they really are.
Some of the employees are related, so they seem to be just a family & some friends who decided to form a "company", even though they have "co-founders" and "CEO". What do they even do?? Twirl their thumbs?
Their site, RocketReach, says they have 3, 5, 6, 9, and 10 employees all at once.
However, you'll never actually see these employees. BlankMediaGames' address, Integreon, 9900 Spectrum Dr, Austin, TX 78717, United States, is a corporate office.

The only person within the staff team that is visible to anyone, is TurdPile on their Forums.
That's right, they don't even enforce their own rules.

Rules/Censorship

The rules for Town of Salem are hidden. You might be able to see a list of rules when you join the game, however these are not the actual server rules.
Town of Salem is a social deduction game, where people "vote" for who they believe to be evil, much like "Among Us", however the difference is that in
ToS (Town of Salem), people "Voted" get a time to defend themselves, then a trial where the people will vote "Guilty" or "Innocent" to REALLY get rid of them.
This leads to a tactic known as "Vote for Role", where players will vote random people to the stand in order to just get their role. This removes all mechanics
from the game, and turns it into an unfun "solved" game where people will get voted up, claim or get voted off, then go to the next person until you catch someone off

guard and eliminate them from the game. This is not fun, as unlike "Among Us", every role in ToS can do something, such as Investigators, Jailors, Lookouts, Vigilantes, ect.
Because of this, there's a push back to ruin this game, and while BMG says it is fine to disagree with the tactic, they will actively force people to participate in it or face being banned.
This is a game-breaking power that gets abused every game of Town of Salem, turning it into a grindy unfun loop where no matter what role you get, it doesn't matter because you won't be able to make use of it.
BMG fully knows this, but they will do nothing to prevent it, both server-wise and code-wise.

In the game ToS, there is also a censorship system that comes in two forms:
1: Soft-censor. Some words like "Bitch" will turn into "Snap Crackle Pop", these are soft-censored words. Words you CAN say, but it will come out differently.
2: Hard-censor. These are for slurs, and should be explanatory... Except it isn't.
With the following two censors, you would think that words like "Retard" and "Tranny" would be banned in some form, but it isn't.
Anyone is free to enter Town of Salem today and can use these words, without consequences.

Forums

BlankMediaGames runs a phpbb Forum page with sections for Role Ideas, Suggestions, Ban Appeals, Player Reporting, Off Topic, ect.
This sounds good on paper, until you remember that the BMG staff does not do anything.
This leads to the forums being either a cesspit of ignorant and useless comments, or just threads being complete wastes of time.
The Role Ideas thread is the place for Elitists to go, the people who believe they should be the only person who decides the balance of the game and the characters,
who will criticize any role idea that isn't their own. Overall, it is not a fun experience, and I would not recommend it.

Illegal Tactics

BlankMediaGames currently has a "Sale" whenever you log into their game, for 50% or 75% off deals for items such as Coins, Skins, Scrolls, or other in-game items.
This would be awesome for players, however this is NOT the case. This is straight up lies, and is the default prices.
BMG artificially raises the prices of the items, then gives you a "Sale" listed as "Limited Time" whenever you log in.
This is illegal under US Government laws, yet BMG does it anyways. I have reported a claim with the FTC, yet as of yet it has gone nowhere.

Also, BMG eats kids... yeah.

Reporting

BlankMediaGames' game is around social deduction, talking, and cooperating with teammates. This means there'll have complains of cheats, selling out teammates, ruining rounds for others, ect.
Beacuse of this, BMG thought of an idea. "Lets let players decide who gets banned!". This sounds great? Right?... Right?
As anyone would expect, this leads to constant abuse of power. At the end of a vote by the players on whether to ban someone, the players who got the "Correct" (most voted) opinion will
get a point, and the other side would lose a point. This leads to a Reddit-type Karma system where people try to get the highest score possible even if it does nothing.

This also leads to people giving their complete loyalty to the system that gives them this Karma points, which again gives them nothing in return.
Which is incredibly stupid, but this leads me to my other point...

Doing it for Free

EVERYONE WORKING FOR BMG IS DOING IT FOR FREE.
There are tons of mini-mods who are satisfied with nothing more than the ability to take the fun from other people.
The person who handles Ban Appeals on their Forum page does NOT WORK FOR BMG! THEY DO NOT GET PAID!
THE SYSTEM BMG HAS IN PLACE WITH THEIR "KARMA POINTS" AND THE MINI-MOD PERMISSIONS THEY GIVE TO THE TOP PLAYERS (WHO CAN DIRECTLY BAN ANYONE THEY WANT)
DO IT ALL AT NO COST TO THE COMPANY THEMSELVES. THEY PROFIT OFF OF FREE LABOR. THIS IS SO INSANE I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW NO ONE HAS TALKED ABOUT THIS BEFORE!
