Steam and Epic Games are Personal Computer (PC) Video game store pages which allows anyone with a computer to purchase games.
There are two clear sides in this argument. Steam is a private company owned and ran by developers who care about the products they make.
Meanwhile, Epic Games is a public corporation with the sole goal of making their investors the most amount of money as they possibly can.
Steam makes money and reinvests them into innovating new technologies, such as Proton, Steam Deck, Remote Play, etc.
Epic Games makes money from Fortnite and uses it to subsidize free games, taking less of a cut per sale on their site, and EGS-exclusive games.
There is one clear thing here: Steam is focused on helping the consumer have a better experience, while Epic Games only cares about dominating the market.
Epic Games has been trying to build up a monopoly on PC games in order to force people to use their store for games.
This went as far as to pay off developers to make their games exclusive to their store. This is normal in the world of Consoles,
however we PC gamers never welcomed this. To add onto this disgusting behavior, they would do this to games that had Gofundmes
which promised Steam keys, forcing these promises to be broken in exchange for enough money to keep themselves alive.
It took Epic Games 3 years to add a Shopping cart functionality.
They also lack Linux support, Proton support, multiplayer support, friend messaging support, etc.
It also forcefully downloads EasyAnticheat onto your computer, a known Chinese trojan malware program.
Also, Epic Games is majority-owned by Tencent.
